Do I need a full synthetic oil in my race bike?

Many people think so but we don't agree. Full-synthetic lubes are over-kill in motorcycles and atvs. The main advantage of a full-synthetic lubricant is its ability to keep lubricating and not burn at extremely high temperatures. And that's great, I got Mobil 1 in my truck. But there's a difference between trucks and motorcycles. That big heavy engine block in my truck can get really overheated and still survive. If your motorcycle engine ever gets as hot as an overheated truck engine you got problems no matter what kind of oil your using. Motorcycle engines are built to be lightweight and those aluminum heads and cylinders used in the new race bikes will warp and distort and cause problems like blown gaskets and seized cams long before the oil breaks down and stops doing its job. If you want to give your engine a bump-up in protection use a semi-synthehic oil like Maxima's SynBlend4. It's the best of both worlds.
